In 1970, the Spanish Porsche importer Bernhard Werner Heiderich instructed Frua Turin to construct a car on the basis of a VW-Porsche 914 / 6. The car should be as close as possible as the Mercedes-Benz C111 look with Wankel engine with corresponding performance.
The car was exhibited at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1971. Ferry Porsche made a special trip to the show and the car pleased him so much that he agreed to a parts delivery to Heiderich for the construction of a small limited series.
Although Heiderich had paid for the design and construction of the prototype, Frua was of the opinion that he owned the exhibition vehicle and the reproduction rights. The ensuing dispute was decided in the third instance until 1976 by a Turin court in favor of Heiderich. Since the production of the VW-Porsche 914 is already the end of 1975 this remained the only piece.
